Published for download
- Activity Totals, 2022–2025 (FOI 2026-505): the file — seats, enrolments, and waitlist entries for all 15,323 aquatics activities. Aggregate by design; contains no individual records. Most figures on this site recompute from this file alone.
- All analysis scripts (zip; README maps the paths they expect to the published files).
analyze_for_site.py’s saved output is published so its numbers can be checked without running it. - Derived outputs: the four-city comparison, the fall 2026 fill curve, the Lifesaving Society certification series, the repeat-rate table, the instruction-hours series, the May 2026 catalogue snapshot behind the headroom analysis, and the kindergarten denominators with the Ministry’s enrolment-by-grade extract.
- Raw catalogue captures behind the comparison and registration-night figures: data/captures/ (Vancouver and Burnaby ActiveNet, Richmond and Surrey PerfectMind, August 15 – September 4, 2026).
- The document library (library): all published board minutes 2019–2026, staff reports and memos, council records, the City’s FOI response letters, neighbour-city reports, web captures, and the CUPE Local 15 agreements. City and neighbour-city source documents are being archived at the Wayback Machine; the manifest records each URL’s status (184 of 292 confirmed as of September 8, 2026; the rest queued or pending at archive.today).
On request
The registration-level extract (FOI 2026-507; 151,568 rows under anonymized child codes) is available on request to journalists and researchers, or directly from the City of Vancouver by citing FOI file 2026-507 — the City released it once and holds the original.
We chose not to post child-level records, even anonymized ones, for general download. The codes carry no names, but four years of registration history per child is the kind of pattern that can sometimes be matched to a real family by someone who already knows part of it. The analytic value of the file is fully available through the published aggregates and scripts; the raw rows add verification, not findings, and verification requests are easy to honour individually. It is the same standard this site asks of the Park Board: publish the analysis, protect the person.
